Features, Uses, Ordering, Delivery & Payment Information
New Durabric
lightweight brick panel cladding is manufactured in Melbourne
Australia from a mixture of natural aggregates - sand,
crushed brick, oxides for colouring and a co-polymer
adhesive.
The bricks are stencilled onto a 4.5mm fibrous cement sheet.
The mortar colour comes by firstly painting the sheets with
a co-polymer adhesive based paint which acts as a sealant
for the cement sheet prior to the bricks being applied.
Once the bricks have been stencilled on the sheets are
stacked into racks where they then wait to be fired in an
industrial gas-fired oven. This process bonds the bricks to
the cement sheeting and hardens the bricks.
COLOUR
MATCHING
For us to match to existing brickwork, it is best if we can
have an actual piece of existing brick. Simply send us a
small portion of the brick (including some mortar if
possible.)
It is not possible for us to create a fake brick with
varying colours. I.e. if you currently have brickwork
on your home that has several colours, we
are only able to make the bricks one complete colour.
Therefore, if you are sending us a sample of brick to be
colour matched and the brick does have different shades of
colour on it, please circle the area with a permanent marker
that you want your brick panels to be matched.
If you
don't have an actual brick to send us, simply
send us anything with the colour you want and we
will use this to do our matching from. Please
ensure that what you send is large enough for us
to work with.
If you are local and wish to view our products you can;
We are also more than happy to post out
samples to those who are not in the Melbourne metropolitan
area. Simply call or email us with your details including
your telephone number and we will promptly send them.

Use As Displays In Shops Or At
Trade Shows
NEW DURABRIC
is ideal for any company wanting to create a display for their own
products by using a wall that can be easily moved. Such displays
could be for showrooms or for trade shows or the like. DTB
INTERNATIONAL PUMPING is an example of such a company and an
image of how they have used NEW
DURABRIC can be seen here.
Another
example of this type of use of NEW
DURABRIC is Warner Bros Movie World
in Queensland where entire sets have been created using our
product. (See the
"Gallery" page.)
KARCHER
cleaning equipment have also made use of our panels to highlight
how their industrial vacuum cleaning systems are easily installed
to walls of factories or the home.
Ordering & Delivery
There are several important factors to be aware of when ordering
NEW DURABRIC.
The first is due to our equipment and the way our sheets are made,
we cannot make less then 10 sheets at a time. This is simply
because of the mixing process where we have to use at least 50
kilos of sand in order for the mixer to work properly.
When ordering any building product it is standard industry
procedure to add 10% to the total estimated to be required due to
wastage. This is especially the case with our product. When a
panel is cut say to be put around a window or the like the
piece cut out cant simply be placed somewhere else due to the
obvious necessity of having to match up mortar lines and the like.
As we primarily do colour matching when producing our bricks, we
are as described above, generally making at least 10 panels
which entails us using perhaps 0.5 of 1 gram of oxide colouring to
achieve the colour a customer wants. Therefore, it is near
impossible for us to make 1 sheet with a perfect colour match
should not enough have been ordered in the first instance.
LEAD & MANUFACTURING TIME
Due to the oxides used to colour the paint for the mortar it can
take up to a week for the true colour to appear. This means the
whole process from start when ordering to finish with a delivery
can be up to three even four weeks. This time may be less
depending on colours chosen. Please ask when you ring what the
expected lead-time will be before ordering.
DELIVERY OF PANELS
NEW DURABRIC
is delivered to all areas in Australia. If you are local to
us in Melbourne we can deliver ourselves by truck or you can
organise to pick up the panels yourself. Remember though each
panel weighs approximately 12 kilos and it soon adds up in terms
of weight.
For interstate customers we can either arrange delivery by
a freight company and advise you prior to the delivery cost. The
panels in this case will always be stacked and tied down to
pallets to ensure safe delivery. If you prefer to organise your
own transport company we are only too happy to work with them.
They can either pick up the pallet directly from us or we can
deliver the bricks to their depot.
Quotes, Invoices & Payments
We are more than happy to provide written
quotations with absolutely no obligation to
proceed. Any plans of areas to be covered can be
emailed, snail mailed or faxed to us to help you
work out quantities needed.
All customers get a tax invoice prior to any works
being started. A 20% deposit on all jobs is
required prior to any brick panels being made. A
tax invoice / receipt is provided showing all
payments and balances to be paid. The balance is
to be paid upon receipt of the brick panels.
